Employment preparation for parents

Employment Preparation helps eligible parents, carers and people aged over 50 to return to the workforce after a long absence, or to enter the workforce for the first time.

The Employment Preparation programme may be able to help you find a job by:

  • assessing your current skill levels
  • updating your skills and qualifications
  • addressing self esteem or self confidence issues
  • and improving your job search capability.

For parents with child care responsibilities, Employment Preparation may also offer help to parents by investigating child care options and providing advice and assistance on job searching skills and techniques.

If you’re receiving an income support payment you should discuss your eligibility for the programme with your Job Network member. Even if you are not receiving income support, you may still be eligible for the programme. For more information phone 13 62 68 or visit workplace.gov.au.
