Is an Indigenous Youth Employment Consultant for me?
Are you Indigenous?
Are you 15-19 years old?
Can you say any of the following things about yourself?
- I'm not currently going to school
- I'm at school but want to leave and get a job
- I'm at school and want to keep studying but I'd like some extra support to help me reach my goals.
If you said 'yes' to these questions, then an Indigenous Youth Employment Consultant (IYEC) can help you.
How can a consultant help me?
A consultant will work with you to help you get the most out of your education, training and/or employment. They can help you out with:
- ongoing mentoring and support while you are still at school or in training, and once you're in a job
- preparing CVs and job applications
- training in job searching skills and networking
- finding suitable courses and training providers
- introducing you to community youth activities in your local area.
